A multi-level terraced home built into a sloping jungle hill, where each step up the hillside forms a separate room or outdoor garden patio.
What This Idea Means
This concept embraces topographic integration. It teaches how to build homes that step gracefully up steep hillsides rather than carving massive flat shelves into the terrain.
How to Make It
- Foundation: Cut two or three terraced steps into a jungle hillside, reinforcing each retaining wall with cobblestone or stripped logs.
- Rooms: Build a small cabin on the lower terrace, connect it with outdoor stairs to a middle patio, and top it with a bedroom suite on the upper terrace.
- Gardens: Plant wheat, sweet berries, and tropical flowers on the exposed soil ledges of each terrace step.
- Roof Overhangs: Design flat or gently sloping wooden overhangs on each tier to protect lower levels from rain.
