- Introduction: Combining loose sand wax with a floating liquid-wax candle creates an eye-catching architectural contrast between solid granules and liquid motion.
- Ingredients Needed: Fine granulated wax in contrasting tones (e.g., charcoal grey and cream), a wide cylindrical glass vase, water, and a small floating disk candle.
- How to Make It: Pour a 2-inch layer of charcoal grey granulated wax into the bottom of your wide glass vase to create a heavy, stable foundation. Carefully pour a 1-inch layer of cream-colored granulated wax on top. Gently pour water over the wax bed until the water level sits about 2 inches above the wax surface (the wax granules will stay tightly packed at the bottom). Gently place your floating disk candle onto the water’s surface. When lit, the floating flame hovers above a rich, textured sand-wax strata.
